Class Pricing

An hourly rate of $25p/h+GST applies across these time allotments and can be purchase via cash payment, direct deposit or online.

As students work at various speeds, we have adapted this progressive block payment method to best suit the individual. Students now have the chance to tailor their project and only pay for what they use.

40 hours (minimum required to begin a new course)

Typically we have found that most individuals require approximately 50-60 hours to complete a standard bolt on neck electric guitar or bass. And approximately 70 hours to complete a set neck project.

People wanting to purchase course access as a gift for the budding luthier are more than welcome to contact us to arrange a gift certificate.

Necessary Extras

Students will need to purchase their hardware and electronics/pickups. As a part of our induction into the course we advise students where the best sources of guitar and bass parts are found. Some of these supplies are located in Australia and some are overseas. All have fantastic online stores and deliver the most comprehensive range of products for all budgets.

Typically we see students spend as little as $300 -$600 on their components depending on the complexity of their build and how exotic they would like to go with their pickups.

We often have many students using pre-owned pickups and hardware bought at very reasonable prices that work exceptionally well.

Personal Protective Equipment

As we work in materials and with machinery that can cause health concerns, we advise that students purchase at least the minimum Personal protective equipment.

•  Safety glasses (not needed if you already use glasses)

•  Disposable Dust mask

•  Earmuffs or ear plugs.

•  Respirator for painting with organic solvents (this is only required if the student wishes to spray paint their own instrument rather than having one of the teachers do so)
